Valley Ark- Life Along The Rio

The Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas teems with unique animal and plant life. In Valley Ark, poet Jan Seale and photographer Ansen Seale, longtime residents of the region, celebrate this diverse and remarkable world. From sun on rabbit ears to rain on a snake, from the flavor of mesquite to the whine of a mosquito, these fifty pictures with their poetic commentary provide an armchair entree into a corner of Texas that deserves admiration and preservation.

Jan Epton Seale, a native Texas, writes and teaches writing from her home base in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Active in environmental work, she edited Creatures on the Edge, a Valley Land Fund pictorial. Her other writing includes The Wonder Is New and Selected Poems 1974-2004. She and her husband Carl have three sons and three grandsons.
