Quinta Mazatlan provides education programs that support the development of our young leaders…inspiring youth to enjoy and appreciate the environment. Children who care about birds and wildlife will learn to be more environmentally savvy in order to protect native habitat. Our lesson plans include both indoor classroom activities and outdoor Thornforest walks.
- Buckets of Fun
It's amazing how man ways there are to use a bucket! Children ages 2-5 years and their parents/guardians are invited to explore a new element of nature each week using a simple bucket, a song, and a forest full of wonder.
- School Science Series
Lessons designed using the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) as a framework for addressing Science and Social studies objectives
- High School & College Guided Trail Tours
Site naturalists will guide the youth through the Thornforest studying both flora and fauna of the Rio Grande Valley.
- Youth and Scout Programs
A variety of themed programs offer students the opportunity to work toward a badge or goal of their choice.
- Service Learning
The service program is a teaching and learning strategy that enriches a student’s life and strengthens the community. Students will gain an awareness of their environment and gain a sense of empowerment to take action to affect change for themselves and others!
