ADVENTUROUS NATURE ARTISTS
- • June 2-5 and June 30- July 3
- • Young artist will learn how to use their voice as an act of stewardship through photography, nature journaling, upcycled art and more!
Nature's Rhythms
- • June 9-12 and July 7-10
- • Campers will become more in tune with the natural world through exploring everything form music, to storytelling and mindfulness practices, exercising peace, respect, gratitude and building confidence.
WONDERS OF WILDLIFE
- • June 16-19- and July 14-17
- •Take a deeper look into the Tamaulipan Thorn Forest where lives an abundance of native birds, plants and other wildlife! Learn how to identify plants and animals and engage curiosity with science!
STEAM in NATURE
- • June 23-26 and July 21-24
- • In this hands-on class, Campers will explore how science, technology, engineering, art and math may be used together to understand our natural world and its many wonders. From science experiments to artistic expression to field studies, there is something for everyone!
Ages 9 -13
QM JUNIOR NATURALIST
- • June 2-5 and June 30- July 3
- • Campers will explore the history, habitats and hidden corners of the urban sanctuary, valuing the natural treasures of the Rio Grande Valley from its biodiversity to unique ecological regions. Along their journey, campers will discover the world of citizen science, discovering how they can collect data, contribute to real research, and make a meaningful impact in their own communities.
CAMP TALON (Teen Adventures Learning Ornithology & Nature)
- • June 9-12 and July 7-10
- • Campers will enjoy an immersive learning experience as they trek through the Thorn forest, applying learned birding tools, identification techniques and explore their curiosities further through am upcycle birdhouse project, which they will have the opportunity to study all summer long via a set live stream.
GEOLOGY ROCKS!
- • June 16-19 and July 14-17
- • Campers will learn how geologists have discovered the many wonders around Earth’s formation with experiments, geode and rock studies, natural history and more!
BIO-BRILLIANCE!
- • June 23-26 and July 21-24
- • Campers will explore the brilliance of biological intelligence, learning how many of our man-made systems have been inspired by nature, what's known as Biomimicry! Special inventions like bird-proof glass, airplanes, and even carbon-sequestering cement are all backed by biological strategies! From observing wildlife behavior, nature's design and considering human impact, campers will leave with a greater appreciation for the natural world.
