Sowing Wildflowers for Spring Workshop

 Description: Winter is the time to sow wildflower seeds for the spring! Participants will learn about how to prepare their wildflower patch, get germination, and care for their wildflowers. Plus, participants will also get to create and take home a wildflower seed packet!

 

 

 

 

Growing Wildflowers Workshop

 Description: Growing wildflowers is a great way to add color to your garden. They attract butterflies and other pollinators, and take less regular care than a lawn! Participants will learn about how to prepare and plant a wildflower patch, and will get to take home wildflower seeds too!

Cactus Blooms and Bugs Workshop

 Description: Cacti make some of the most beautiful flowers in the Rio Grande Valley, with peak blooms in March and April. Learn about the different cactus species in the area, commonly seen wildlife that rely on them, and get tips on growing them in your gardens.

 

 


All about Milkweeds Workshop

 Description: Milkweeds are a powerhouse plant! Not only are they the host plant for Monarch butterflies, but they also provide food for Queens, Soldiers, tussock moths, milkweed bugs, milkweed longhorn beetles, and a variety of pollinators. This workshop will introduce you to the many species of milkweeds found in the Rio Grande Valley, give you tips on how to grow them in your garden, and introduce you to the wildlife that use them.
