Field Trips
We are offering a diverse line-up of guided field lessons to schools and other education groups, which inspire learning through ecology, stewardship, art, and history, while meeting Texas standards of education. Field trips can be modified to your group’s needs and run from 9am to 12pm, with the option to stay for lunch.
Guided Field trip admission rates and guidelines are as follows:
Winter and spring bookings are open until filled.
Admission per student is $7.
One adult admitted free for every 10 students: $3 for every additional adult.
Programming available for groups at maximum number of 65 students; please contact us with larger group inquiries.
Self-guided programming is available for larger groups of a maximum of 200 youths.

Discover what a forest is and the creatures which call this place home
Through careful observation, students will explore the various ecosystem habitats, animal body and plant adaptations, and lifecycles.
With a focus on nature’s complexity and the connectedness in ecosystems, students will investigate the relationships that keep nature balanced.
Students will gain a greater awareness of the natural world through an experience with field science, understand the consequences of disturbing natural habitat and learning how to put real strategies designed towards benefiting the LRGV.
Students will explore how environmental science is important to protecting our natural environment and everyday life from conducting field surveys to re-imagining forms of stewardship.
